Collaborators

USAMI collaborators include faculty, students and researchers from Africa, the U.S., and the Americas.  Our network includes people at other International Materials Institutes (IMIs), U.S. institutions, African Institutions and in the Americas.  We are also working to establish a Global Development Network of students and faculty that are using science- and technology-based projects to promote global development.

One of the key efforts within the USAMI is in providing academic inputs into the effort to establish the Nelson Mandela Institution (NMI).  These are African Institutes of Science and Technology (AISTs) that will promote interdisciplinary science and technology research, education and technology transfer across Africa.  The USAMI Director, Prof. Wole Soboyejo, is the President of the African Scientific Committee (ASC) of the Nelson Mandela Institution.
